Master of Economics CRICOS 065396D

The Master of Economics provides advanced training in economics and econometrics, develops skills in critically reading literature, and provides experience in undertaking independent research. The program is ideal preparation for professional economists in the public or private sectors, and is also an appropriate foundation for further study at the PhD level. Graduates of the program will have detailed knowledge of the most recent research in the disciplines of economics and econometrics, and will have developed the skills needed to make new contributions to that research.

The Master of Economics is 14 subjects and a research report in duration, and will normally be completed in two years of full-time study or four years part-time. Commencement of the degree is only in Semester One of any given year.

Who should apply?

The Master of Economics is designed for students with prior training in economics or a cognate discipline with a strong analytical/mathematical component, who wish to acquire the advanced skills needed to practice as a professional economist in the public or private sectors. The program is also an appropriate foundation for further PhD study.
