Master of Applied Finance CRICOS 017506A

The Master of Applied Finance is a practical and career-oriented program at the cutting edge of theory and practice. It is ideal for the professional working in finance or a finance-related industry seeking to expand his or her ability and knowledge in the area.

The Master of Applied Finance will normally be completed in one year of full-time study, or two years part-time. The maximum time permitted for completion is four years.

Part-time students may only enter at the commencement of Semester One each year (March intake). Please note that international students must undertake postgraduate programs on a full-time basis if in Australia on a student visa.

Part-time attendance

The Master of Applied Finance suits the needs of working finance professionals. Classes are held at the University’s Parkville campus commencing at 6.15pm.

Participants are required to attend classes two evenings per week for three hours each evening. The combination of work and study provides the opportunity to draw clear connections between the program and the student’s employment. Some subjects may also be offered in intensive mode, such as over three successive weeks, and may include weekends.

Full-time attendance

The Master of Applied Finance program can be completed on a full-time basis in nine months, if you wish to take a break from your career or are sponsored by your organisation. It provides experienced professionals with an opportunity to focus exclusively on their studies and return quickly to the workforce. Evening classes provide the opportunity for full-time and part-time participants to interact. Full-time students are required to attend 12 hours of classes per week. It is anticipated that students will spend about 30 additional hours per week undertaking private study and class assignments.
