The Master of Commerce (Management) provides business/commerce graduates with advanced level study in management on an internationally recognised pathway. The course offers broader, more comprehensive training in a specialised field and the opportunity to gain research experience through a research project. Students must have completed a major in management or a related discipline in their previous degree.
Master of Management graduates, or those who have completed an equivalent degree, may apply to the Master of Commerce (Management) program if they have at least an H2B (70%) average.
The Master of Commerce (Management) is 14 subjects and a research report in duration, and will normally be completed in two years of full-time study or four years part-time.
Who should apply?
The Master of Commerce (Management) is designed for students with a degree in business/commerce who may be interested in progressing into the PhD program or pursuing a career in consulting, market research or strategy.
Exit points
Students enrolled in a Master of Commerce (Management) who are either unable or choose not to continue with their studies may be eligible to be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce (Management). Students must have successfully completed a total of eight subjects drawn from the Master of Commerce core and elective list to be eligible to exit with the Postgraduate Diploma.

To be considered for admission to the Master of Commerce (Management), applicants must satisfy the following requirements:
- An undergraduate degree with the equivalent of a major in management or a related discipline
- Results of the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), unless the applicant has met one of the approved conditions for a GMAT/GRE exemption
- A personal statement.
Students who meet the following requirements may be admitted directly into Year Two of the program:
- A four-year Honours degree in management with at least an H2B (70%) average, or
- A relevant postgraduate degree with at least an H2B (70%) average.
