Master of International Business (12 subject program) CRICOS 054184G

The Master of International Business (MIB) is designed to develop the capabilities and resources of managers in the global economy. Emphasising the practical application of specialised knowledge, the program aims to develop management skills tailored for the international business environment. It focuses on strategic planning for international operations and provides an in-depth understanding of the organisational capabilities required, including specialised functions such as international marketing, finance and HRM.

The MIB curriculum is a framework in which global issues and business practices are brought together. Core subjects offer an integrated approach to key issues such as:

  • Global markets and the global economy
  • The strategic position and competitive advantage of the firm
  • Selecting foreign markets and choosing the appropriate entry mode
  • Managing a multi-cultural and multi-country operation
  • Host country governments and regulation.

Elective subjects put individual areas of business practice into an international context. Subjects cover finance (prerequisites apply), marketing, human resources, business management, regional economies and the role of government in international business.

The program is open to students with a previous degree in any discipline, and will normally be completed in 18 months of full-time study or three years part time.

Who should apply?

The program is appropriate for students who want to establish or accelerate their international business careers, building on two or more years of relevant professional experience.

Students in the MIB come from a range of backgrounds and bring a wealth of experience to the classroom. The MIB is a well-balanced package for managers whose knowledge must cover all bases in the complex and dynamic field of international business.
